چکیده

The hydrodynamic problem of impact between a solid wedge and a liquid wedge is analysed. The liquid is assumed to be ideal and incompressible; gravity and surface tension effects are ignored. The flow generated by the impact is assumed to be irrotational and therefore can be described by the velocity potential theory. The solution procedure is based on the analytical derivation of the complexvelocity potential in a parameter plane and the function mapping conformally the parameter plane onto the similarity plane. The mapping function is found as a combination of the derivatives of the complex potential in the similarity and parameter planes, through the integral equations for mixed and homogeneous boundary-value problems in terms of the velocity modulus and the velocity angle with the fluid boundary, together with the dynamic and kinematic boundary conditions. These equations are solved through a numerical method. The procedure is first verified through comparisons with some known results. Simulations are then made for a variety of cases, and detailed results are presented in terms of the free surface shape, streamlines, pressure distribution on the wetted solid surface, and contact angles between the free surface and the body surface.

Dosimetric evaluation of a treatment planning system using pencil beam convolution algorithm for enhanced dynamic wedges with symmetric and asymmetric fields

Background: The dosimetric performance of Eclipse 6.5 three dimensional treatment planning system (3DTPS) is evaluated by comparing the calculated and measured dose in two dimensions following the guide lines of American Association for Physicists in Medicine Task Group 53. Materials and Methods: The calculations were performed by the 3DTPS for symmetric as well as asymmetric fields for standar...

Viscous Models Comparison in Water Impact of Twin 2D Falling Wedges Simulation by Different Numerical Solvers

In this paper, symmetric water entry of twin wedges is investigated for deadrise angle of 30 degree. Three numerical simulation of a symmetric impact, considering rigid body dynamic equations of motion in two-phase flow is presented. The two-phase flow around the wedges is solved by Finite Element based on Finite Volume method (FEM-FVM) which is used in conjunction with Volume of Fluid (VOF) sc...

Treatment planning validation for symmetric and asymmetric motorized wedged fields

Purpose: Wedged beam are often used in clinical radiotherapy to compensate missing tissues and dose gradients. The Elekta Precise linear accelerator supports an internal motorized wedge, which is a single large, physical wedge on a motorized carriage. In this study, the dosimetric performance of Elekta precise three dimensional treatment planning system (3DTPS) is evaluated by comparing the cal...

The Impact of Asymmetric Risk on Expected Return

The main goal of the present study is testing asymmetric risk pricing and comparing it with pricing of traditional risk measures in Tehran Stock Market. Accordingly, a sample consisting of 101 companies listed in Tehran Stock Market during 2002-2013 went under investigation. In order to test asymmetric risk pricing, regression model of panel data was applied. The results revealed a positive and...

Investigating the impact of real effective Dollar rate on OPEC oil prices: non-linear asymmetric cointegration approach

The oil price and the real effective exchange rate (REER) are two important variables affecting OPEC countries politics and economy. Despite the fact that the existing theoretical literature confirms the relationship between oil price and the exchange rate (Dollar), there is no consensus about the direction of causality between these two variable. Also, statistical data shows that there is a sy...
